Review

I actually really enjoyed this read, and I was surprised about it—because this is not like anything I think I’ve ever read before. Despite my enjoyment, it took me longer than usual to finish this, because it’s a lengthy read. In fact, much as I’m not particularly a fan of duets, this is something I found had two very distinct acts, and could have benefited from being released as two shorter instalments.

The erotica was typical of West—no holds barred, pushing the boundaries—but so was the emotion. There were aspects of this that I found quite difficult to read, creating a feeling in my stomach because I was rooting so much for Brett and Grace. I wasn’t so keen on Thomas, despite understanding his motivations, and it felt like his development was a little rapid (again, a duet would perhaps have been more appropriate here).

The strongest aspect was how West successfully made me feel for these characters, and that’s something I’ll carry with me. It’s wonderful to read about a couple already married, which makes this feel more new adult to me than romance—and I very much loved the development and realisations of the characters throughout these pages, including what I consider the best type of ending.

REVIEW: Bait by Jade West

Jade West never ceases to amaze me with how she can pull at my heartstrings whilst arousing me to flood levels. Her characters are always deep and three-dimensional, and it’s fantastic that erotica can be moving in this direction, while still providing the thrills.

This was a touching read, yet heaped with West’s typical filth, this time broaching a taboo subject that was a pleasure to finally be able to read about. Kudos to her for that, as it could have been quite a sensitive one but also something a lot of women fantasise.

My one complaint was the build up of the deeper relationship between the characters being too rushed, in my opinion (almost verging on insta-love but with some rough fun mixed in there), and it could have definitely done with a slower build.

Overall, yet another Jade West serving of fabulousness. A one-handed read indeed, you’ll be either masturbating or clutching at your heart.

Bait by Jade West

JWBaitBookCover6x9_MEDIUMA stranger online. Dark hair and even darker eyes that knew my dirty desires before I did.
A fantasy that should never be spoken. But he pulled the confession from me.
And now he’s coming for me.
Rough. Dirty. Dangerous.
It’s supposed to be one night to get me off and make me forget.
He’ll make me his and I’ll pretend I don’t want him to.
I’ll run and he’ll chase.
Because I asked him for this.
I begged him for this.
Tonight, in the darkness, he’s the hunter.
And I’m the bait.

Butcher by Leann Ashers

butcher coverHe stalked me from the moment he saw me. He watched me day and night.

Butcher is what everyone calls crazy. They see all the tattoos and scars and to be honest, to most people he looks downright scary. He’s dangerous. He is after all the enforcer to the Devil Souls MC.

But to me? He’s just Butcher. I see him. I see who he really is. I see a man who will do anything for the people he cares about. I see the man who will protect and love me above everything else.

I am just as obsessed with him as he is me. I will die for him and he would kill for me.

What everyone doesn’t know is I have the same crazy inside of me…

Havoc by Laramie Briscoe

29542373 (1)When a marriage of convenience turns into the passion of a lifetime…

Holden “Havoc” Thompson

My job as the leader of the Moonshine Task Force is my life. I eat, breathe, and sleep it. The men under my command mean the world to me. Knowing they count on my guidance has kept my demons at bay for longer than I care to admit.

The control I have over myself is an iron fist that sometimes threatens to squeeze the life out of me. What I want more than anything is to live again – let go of the hurt smothering every bit of light I have in this darkness.

I don’t expect it to come in the form of a Moonshiner’s daughter needing my protection.

Leighton Strather

My whole life has been defined by who my family is. In the state of Alabama, we’re number one with a target on our backs. The danger and prestige isn’t for me. I don’t care about the money, and I care too much about the families we’ve ruined.

My brother and my dad are proud of it. They wear their arrest records like a badge of honor. Me? I want as far away from the lifestyle as I can get.

It’s the only reason I ask Holden to marry me. At least that’s what I tell myself.

I never expect his whispered yes to cause such upheaval in my life. Even though I resist, I learn some havoc is good – and this one? It’s a whirlwind of lust, hope, and love and all I can do is let it sweep me away.

REVIEW: Buy Me, Sir by Jade West

Jade West is back on form with Buy Me, Sir—a helping of her typical filth, but one of her novels which has the filth topping deep emotion. As ever, her characters are wonderfully developed, and her writing never fails to grip the heart.

This novel very much reminded me of Teach Me Dirty in how West completely manipulated my emotions, particularly with a heroine who isn’t the typical Mary Sue, and is, in fact, difficult to actually like, despite sympathising with her. It’s gritty and great, and these characters are brilliantly flawed.

The entire thing just feels like a trainwreck is about to happen. It shares the emotions stirred by a Shakespearean tragedy, to the extent that I found myself unsure as to whether there would be a happily ever after or not—and no, I’m not telling.

Highly enjoyable, often arousing, and sometimes difficult to read, Buy Me, Sir is up there with West’s best work, mostly due to the strength of her characters and the originality of her plot.

He treats me like a princess, like the fragile little girl he saved from the cold.
But I like him… I like him like that.
I’ve never liked anyone like that before…

It’s like I can’t decide how we’re supposed to be… what we are…

Review

Heat: 5/5
Rating: 4/5

Where to begin? I guess I’ll start with the customary ubiquitous warning over Jade’s filth. This isn’t for the faint of heart. Particularly this one. If you didn’t get it from the title, it’s about a daddy fetish. So don’t go reading this and then get all butthurt because you find it offensive/disgusting.

I’ll continue by saying I’m an open-minded individual, and like to think I’m a bit kinky. However, I did find the daddy bit slightly weird. I was confused for much of the time as to whether I should be cringing or masturbating. This read was really a whole lot of both, if I’m honest. The problem is that Jade is an expert in the anatomy of a sex scene; only she can make piss sexy, and despite the slightly cringy daddy fetish, I have to admit that the way she wrote it made it a fuckload of hot. 5/5 hot. One-handed-read hot. Vibrator-ran-out-of-battery hot.

So this was, basically, a fairly quick dirty romp, with enough character depth and development for me to actually get stuck in and want to savour this rather than read it to feed my imagination’s wank bank. I have to say it was a little quick at the beginning for me, and I found the immediate attachment a bit unhealthy/verging on the dreaded insta-love. But, aside from that, I loved the storyline of two people finding what they need in one another, and learning the balance in life. Similarly, I loved the underlying theme of finding the courage to go against society’s norms.

Overall, this was exactly what Daddy ordered, and Daddy knows best.

Out now! Jade West boxed set

jade-west-collectionBox Set by Jade West
Books: Teach Me Dirty, Sugar Daddies, Bang Gang
Series: three standalones
add-to-goodreads-button

Three bestselling novels. One dirty Boxset.

BANG GANG

It’s one thing knowing your ex-boyfriend is a bit of a player, but it’s another thing altogether to find out he’s pimping himself out to anyone who’ll pay good money for it.

Not just himself, either. That would be far too regular for Darren Trent.

Darren Trent – my teenage sweetheart and father to my two young girls – is not just whoring himself out. Oh no. Darren Trent pimps himself out alongside four of his mechanic friends – all of them at the same time.

Five hot, sweaty mechanics at your service.

They call themselves the Bang Gang… you can imagine.

In a village our size I should keep my head down and hope the scandal blows over before the girls or my poor old Nanna catch wind of it.

Only it’s not blowing over. Far from it. It seems every woman in the village wants themselves a five-mechanic sandwich.

They make no qualms about it, either. Just rock on up to my café counter and ask how they can book themselves in for a Bang Gang special. Like I would know.

I definitely wouldn’t know. I hardly even know Darren Trent anymore. We split up a lifetime ago.

I definitely don’t think about him late at night. Don’t think about five mechanics and me as much as every other woman in this village.

And even if I did, I wouldn’t act on it. I wouldn’t draw the money from my savings account and have a go for myself.

And even if I did that, I definitely, definitely wouldn’t fall for him. Not again. Not after everything we went through. Not after splitting up the first time nearly brought me to my knees.

Not after settling into a decent routine, the girls and me, with no drama, no heartbreak, no crazy passions to rock the calm little boat we’re sailing on.

I mean, who would be stupid enough to risk all that over a hot, sweaty, oily bit of rough like Darren Trent?

SUGAR DADDIES

A sugar daddy website doesn’t seem a sound basis for an A1 life plan, but I’m a small town girl with big dreams, and there’s this one advert, this one crazy advert I can’t stop thinking about…

Two hot guys seeking their Little Miss Right.

Someone who can entertain them, amuse them, fit in with their corporate schedule.

And sex. They want sex.

Lots of sex.

Bonus, right? One major dose of epic win.

Of course, guys like Carl and Rick have their conditions. One being that they come together, or not at all.

Hell, I can live with that.

And there are no skeletons in their designer closet, none that I can find.

Just two hot sugar daddies, with particular tastes, nothing to worry about.

Until Carl and Rick spill the big one, the one that sends the girls running. A whole string of them before me, running to the hills without so much as a backward glance.

Maybe I should run, too. Thanks but no thanks, see you around, guys, nice knowing you.

But I’m already in way too deep for that.

Warning – as with every other Jade West book, reader discretion is highly advised. This novel contains vivid depictions of MMF / MM relationships, and Jade’s characters, as always, have very filthy mouths. Mature readers only, please.

TEACH ME DIRTY

They tell me it’s unhealthy, just a stupid crush. They tell me it’s infatuation, and will never come to anything. Never mean anything.

Because what would I know, right?

I haven’t even finished school. I’m just a silly little girl.

And no little girl should want the things I want from him.

No little girl should have the thoughts I have…

But they’re wrong.

I really do love Mr Roberts.

I love Mr Roberts because he’s the most amazing man, the most amazing artist, the most amazing teacher that could ever have existed.

And what if… just what if Mr Roberts wants me, too?

What if Mr Roberts really does want to Teach Me Dirty?

(Please note that the heroine is 18 years old)
