I randomly picked this off my shelf and couldn’t put it down. This one was a bandwagon buy so I wasn’t too sure what I was getting into, but being half Italian I loved how the author wrote about Italy and how she incorporated the language into it (but there were a few lines that weren’t translated and I know how annoying that can be for people who don’t understand)
After her mother dies, Lina is sent to Italy to live with her father – who lives in a cemetery. When she gets there, she is greeted by her mother’s journal and beings to read about her mother’s life and finding the pieces of who Lina really is.
A quick read, and not too deep so I was able to have background noise on and not get distracted. A great coming-of-age-ish story about love, life, and finding your happiness. 4 stars!
