REVIEW: Enrage by Rachel van Dyken

Emotionally charged and devastating….

Enrage is the eighth in the Eagle Elite series…Dante and El are the main focus of this installment but one of the great things about this series is that all the characters from the previous books continue to feature…this is a young adult mafia romance but the unsuspecting reader would be foolish to think that this is a mild, hearts and flowers romantic read…this one in particular is a dark gritty and devastating story…

The imagined world is violent and fraught with deadly enemies and hidden threats…the characters in the main are the products of a harsh upbringing or victims of the ruthless people who ruled before them..Dante and El are thrown together through circumstances outside their control and their relationship develops out of a common cause… I love the darkness within the characters, Dante and El are no exception although I did not feel their relationship had quite the same chemistry as other couples in the series….I love the group of central characters who rule their world with brutal force and iron resolve…. their strong bonds of friendship, humour and love have been forged through blood, sweat and tears…

I am an avid fan of the Eagle Elite series and the writing creativity of the author……. this book is one of the most emotionally charged in the series…I was completely gripped by the thrilling storyline where trust and honour is questioned and loyalties are tested through betrayal and greed……4.5 stars for Enrage….This book was reviewed for Summer’s Eve Reads…
